September 23, 2024, Ryley, Alberta – Claystone Waste is excited to announce the official intake of applications for the Fall 2024 Community and Partnership Grants. Available to any not-for-profit located in Tofield, Viking, Ryley, Holden, or Beaver County, this grant program helps fund a variety of initiatives from events, programs, supplies, or other activities that benefit the community.
“I think one of the things I value most about Claystone is how we give back to the community, whether through the dividends we pay to our shareholder municipalities, the Good Neighbour Grants to Ryley and Beaver County, and through our community grant program,” said Corey Popick, chief executive officer. “Our Community Grant program has supported many organizations, including the Beaverhill Bird Observatory, the Beaver Ambulance Society, the Holden Historical Society, and the Royal Canadian Legion in Ryley, just to name a few. I’m looking forward to seeing the grant applications and how we can continue to support these great organizations.”
The Community Grant Program consists of three levels:
- Micro-Grants: one-time cash awards of $200 or less.
- Community Grants: for requests over $200.
- Partnership Grants: requests for projects, events or initiatives over $2500.
“Micro-Grants are reviewed throughout the year, while Community and Partnership Grants are reviewed in June and December of each year,” continued Popick. “Unfortunately, we cannot consider significant multi-year projects or retroactive requests, so it is important that people plan ahead and apply early.”
The deadline for applications for the Community and Partnership Grants is November 30. All applicants will be notified whether they were successful or not in December. Grant funding is not paid in advance – cheques are mailed out once Claystone has received receipts for the project, activity or event. Full details on the grant application process and requirements, along with the online application form, can be found at claystonewaste.com/grants.
