Claystone Waste is celebrating Compost Awareness Week by once again offering free compost to residents of Beaver County, Villages of Holden and Ryley, and the Towns of Tofield and Viking.
“We have been very impressed with the quality of compost we have been able to prepare at our site and are proud to once again offer it to local residents,” said Corey Popick, Chief Executive Officer. “Our compost is laboratory tested and classified as Category A, making it an excellent amendment to soil for flower beds, vegetable gardens, lawns, for mulching around trees, and for tree planting.”
The compost will be available at the Ryley Transfer Station at the landfill site starting Monday, May 5 and will be available while quantities last.
- Residents will be required to load their own compost by hand – no mechanical equipment is permitted.
- Residents will need to bring their own containers, shovels, and gloves.
- Claystone recommends a face mask and protective eyewear, particularly on windy days, and a tarp to cover any open loads.
Residents are asked to take only what they need for personal use. Anyone requiring larger amounts are asked to complete the online compost request form and a member of the Claystone team will be happy to provide a quote.
