A Summer of Community Connection

With August – and Summer 2026 – in our review mirror, we can’t help but look back at what an incredible season it has been across Beaver County!

At Claystone, we know our work goes far beyond providing essential waste management services. As your locally owned neighbor, we love rolling up our sleeves, giving back, and reinvesting in the places we call home. From action-packed festivals to funding local projects, it has been a season full of fun, connection, and community spirit!

We kicked things off for the summer season on June 21 by sponsoring the Father’s Day pancake breakfast at Ryley Sports Day, helping bring together families, ball players, and community members. From the parade and slo-pitch tournament to bouncy castles, food trucks, and fireworks, the event was a fantastic celebration of community spirit and everything that makes Beaver County special.

We also had a blast as a Gold Sponsor at Ryley SummerFest. Our staff got right into the action, braving the dunk tank and joining the pie-throwing contest. Seeing so many smiling faces reminded us why we support the events that bring neighbors together.

We also had fun sponsoring and celebrating the proud local tradition of the Bruce Stampede and Parade. As Canada’s oldest one-day pro rodeo, the event has brought the community together for generations and remains one of Beaver County’s most anticipated summer celebrations.

Meanwhile, our Giant Pumpkin Growing Contest is still going strong! With plants generously provided by Maple Park Farms and nutrient-rich compost supplied by Claystone, residents are hard at work growing their giant pumpkins. We are excited to crown a champion at the end of the season. Don’t forget that the deadline to submit your pumpkin is September 5th, with the winners to be announced on September 14.

This summer also marked a big milestone for the Claystone Community Grant Program. We were thrilled to award a total of $29,000 to various community groups during our first intake period. If your group missed out, please do not be discouraged—we encourage you to apply for the next round of funding. The application period closes on November 30.

From local events to community grants, Claystone is committed to supporting the people and projects that make Beaver County a great place to live. Thank you to everyone who helped make this summer one to remember. We look forward to continuing to support local initiatives throughout the fall as we build a brighter future together!
