Holden, Alberta – The Village of Holden is pleased to announce that it will receive a $310,019.33 dividend from Claystone Waste Ltd. in 2026, $13,479.10 more than the dividend paid out in 2025.
“In 2024, Council decided that 80 per cent of the Claystone dividends would be used to offset the cost of operating the Village, and the remaining 20 per cent is reserved for future capital projects. These annual dividends from Claystone help to keep the Village sustainable by assisting with maintaining a reasonable level of service that doesn’t affect the residents’ tax bills such as small grants for non-profit groups to help maintain the recreation and cultural services that the volunteer groups successfully manage. The Village Council is pleased to partner with the other four municipalities within the BeaverrRegion on the Claystone Waste valuable initiative. The service provided by Claystone Waste and the revenue the entity brings to the region are incomparable.”
Carl Marsh, Mayor, Village of Holden
“2025 marked the five-year anniversary of Claystone and we were pleased to celebrate that milestone by once again increasing the dividends to our shareholder municipalities. These dividends are an important source of revenue as municipalities face growing infrastructure deficits and funding pressure. Claystone dividends translate into real benefits for residents by supporting local services, projects, and long‑term community sustainability. This success reflects a strong regional partnership that delivers value back to the communities we serve.”
Meryl Whittaker, Chair, Claystone Board of Directors
