(Edmonton, Alberta) Claystone Waste Ltd. has entered into an agreement to purchase all the significant assets of CORE Recycling Inc. in Edmonton to become part of Claystone waste management operations. This acquisition will be finalized and take effect following the completion of all closing requirements.
“CORE operations are complementary to the services we offer at the West Edmonton Transfer Station, which we opened last fall, but they take it a step further,” said Corey Popick, chief executive officer for Claystone. “CORE has established itself as a trusted name with the waste industry that prioritizes diversion and reuse by separating recyclable content. Additional services offered by CORE align with our philosophy of ‘no waste gone to waste’ and we are excited to expand into this market and provide a complete service offering to our customers throughout Edmonton.”
Claystone and CORE will be working together over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition. CORE will continue to operate as it has been, and any future administrative changes will be shared with customers as they become available.
“When you visit the CORE facility, there is a strong sense of pride, and that comes from the people who work there, so it was important for us to have as many of the CORE team as possible join Claystone,” said Popick. “They know their customers and they will help ensure we offer a level of service that meets – or exceeds – what CORE customers have come to expect. We have a great team at Claystone and this acquisition is helping that team grow.”
CORE Recycling is located at 4810 – 68 Avenue NW in Edmonton and will become part of the Claystone urban and rural transfer station network.
