Complaint: Caller reporting a strong odour from claystone waste. Caller noticed it today and rated it 8/10. Wind from the S to the SE at 7km/hr.
Claystone findings:
- Winds at the time were directly from the East, at 091° and light according to the on-site weather station.
- No compost-related odour was noted on site throughout October 2
- Odours from the nearby Ryley septic lagoon and from the landfill (MSW, municipal solid waste – common household garbage) were noted as faint odours by personnel conducting routine odour checks.
With winds from the East at the time of the complaint, only faint odours of household garbage from the landfill, no detectable compost odours on or around site, and the location of the anonymous complainant unknown, it is impossible to determine whether the complaint is related to Claystone operations.
