Ryley, Alberta – During the April 14 Council Meeting, Claystone Waste announced that Beaver County will receive $104,575.51 through the Good Neighbour Grant, an increase of $14,595 over the previous year. The grant allows the County to support local residents by covering waste disposal and dust control for properties located near Claystone operations.
“The Good Neighbour Grant continues to make a meaningful difference for residents living near Claystone operations. It helps offset real, day-to-day costs like waste disposal and dust control, which are important for maintaining quality of life in those areas.
In addition to that direct support, any remaining funding gives Council the flexibility to invest in other local priorities that benefit residents, whether that’s supporting community programs, enhancing local services, or addressing emerging needs as they come up.
This is another strong example of Claystone being a good neighbour in our region, not only through the services they provide, but by helping ensure the surrounding community is supported in a practical and meaningful way”
Reeve Gene Hrabec, Beaver County
“The Good Neighbour Grant is provided to Beaver County and the Village of Ryley in recognition of the important role these communities play in supporting Claystone’s operations. We appreciate how Beaver County is using the grant to cover costs for the residents living near our facility. Through the Good Neighbour Grant, Claystone Waste demonstrates its commitment to making a positive impact by supporting shared growth, strengthening local initiatives, and building lasting community partnerships.”
Meryl Whittaker, Chair, Claystone Board of Directors
The Good Neighbour Grant is provided through a limited partnership agreement between local municipalities and Claystone Waste. Under the agreement, 66.67 per cent of the annual grant is allocated to the Village of Ryley, with the remaining 33.33 per cent provided to Beaver County. Since the inception of the Good Neighbour Grant Program, Beaver County has received a total of $783,932.94.
